My question is regarding its oil change interval. Both KTM riders and KTM importer recommend changing engine oil of 690 every thousand km or at least every 2,000 km while the manual suggests changing it every 10,000km after first service at first 1,000km.
I think the 15k service intervals, for environment . reasons . They use synthetic oil so can normally take more k's. but like was said some don't ride a lot of miles or Kilometres , so in that case every 12 months. if you do the miles quick , like say 30k per year 15k between service ok. D.
Different service intervals may apply in your country, depending on the local operating conditions. Individual service intervals and scopes may change in the course of technical developments. The most up-to-date service schedule can always be found on KTM Dealer.net. Your authorized KTM dealer will be happy to advise you. Page 61: Recommended Work

If you look at this pic its a bit blurry but there is a tube coming out of the filtr cover so there are some changes to the lubrication system, possibly more oil into the head which is how they can extend the valve servicing intervals Diesel McNasty. So I’m ready to do my post one hour/break in oil change on my new 500. As most of you know KTM doesn’t supply a printed manual any longer (really pissed about this). So I downloaded the manual and get the supplies together. KTM calls for synthetic and doesn’t mention using anything other than that. Wtom9.
