Capacity depends on the age of the gearbox, I think. The older boxes had an "added" fifth gear which was slightly above the rest and needed a bit more oil for lubrication. I had an '86 Talbot which used 2.7 litres. I can't tell you when the configuration changed, but I'm about to put 2.7 litres into my W-reg 2.8
